PPOC-Alberta Member Benefits

Dear Prospective Member,

Thank you for the interest you have shown in the Professional Photographers of Canada Alberta (PPOC-Alberta) and the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC). You are invited to join us as a member of both associations.

The PPOC-Alberta offers many benefits to member photographers. New members are invited to all PPOC-Alberta dinner meetings, workshops, seminars, and conventions. Dinner meetings are held monthly, with guest speakers. We have an annual convention & print competition. There are about four or five workshops a year including the “New Members” workshop. You will also receive all of our mail outs including our “Focus Magazine” with 3 editions per year. You will also be invited to our social functions.

As a member, you will be required to attend one “New Members” workshop during your first two years of membership. “New Members” workshops are held at least once a year in each Branch. This is one of the most beneficial workshops that you can attend, as it covers all the benefits of membership, along with the direction on seeking an “Accreditation” with the PPOC, preparation of images for print competition, and general finishing techniques for the endeavors. You are encouraged to try and obtain an accreditation within two calendar years of joining. Help is available through your sponsoring member, or through any accredited member of the association.

As a member of the PPOC, you will have access to our online directory. ...A listing of all active members, and information with the directions and guidelines for submitting an accreditation. You will also receive the official PPOC Magazine. The PPOC also offers benefit options for you and your family as well as incomparable insurance and merchant rates.

As a member of the PPOC-Alberta and the PPOC, you are required to adhere to a Code of Ethics, which you will receive in your Welcome Package once accepted as a Full Member and is also available online.

We ask that you fill out the application insert in full. Along with your applications, you are required to submit a portfolio of 10 professionally presented images. See Portfolio requirement insert for more details.
